Prepare a Module Studio brief

The public builder helps you describe a module before discussing the work. It is not a paid order form, and downloading a brief does not start development.

Prepare your brief​

  1. Open Module Studio and select Build your brief.
  2. In Requirement, add a working title, describe the outcome and choose the starting point, target Odoo version and edition.
  3. In Scope, explain the people and permissions, relevant dependencies and the checks that would show the module works. Describe supporting material without adding secrets or production data.
  4. In Rights & budget, record your rights preference, currency and requested maximum budget. These are proposal inputs, not an accepted price or payment permission.
  5. In Review, check your details, then use Download brief (.txt) or Copy brief. To discuss it, use the contact link and include the brief yourself; it is not transferred automatically.

Make the brief useful​

Describe behaviour as well as screens: who may create, read, change or approve records; what should happen normally; and what should happen when an action cannot be completed. A small fictional example is safer than a production record. See the development guidance.

Expected result​

A text brief to keep or share, not a quote, order or module ZIP.

Limitations​

Online payment authorisation, charging and automatic module delivery are not live. Version, dependencies, rights and price require review. Saving to a Studio workspace and uploading files are separate authenticated actions, outside this public-builder guide.

Troubleshooting​

  • The guided builder does not appear: enable JavaScript, or contact Corvus with your requirement.
  • I expected a module download: the brief download contains your requirements, not software.
  • I have a wider implementation or integration project: begin with Odoo services rather than forcing the whole project into one module brief.

Which download am I looking for?​

Download brief (.txt) saves your requirements as text. For a ready-made app you already purchased, follow Download a purchased Odoo App using the purchase account. These are separate products and delivery routes. To take a custom brief forward, prepare a service enquiry and include the brief yourself.
